Independent Irish developer Gambrinous today announced their partnership with leading independent games publisher Versus Evil to release Guild of Dungeoneering on PC, Mac and tablets in 2015. Guild of Dungeoneering is the first commercial game from the Dublin based studio and sees players guide their hero’s dungeon run with the careful placement of rooms and monster cards to steal the loot and escape with their lives… but it doesn’t always work out as planned!

“I am very pleased and excited to be working with Versus Evil on the launch of Guild of Dungeoneering,” said Colm Larkin, Founder of Gambrinous. “After all of our hard work going through Steam Greenlight and making it onto Steam, it’s great to know that our first commercial game is in such safe hands with Versus Evil and I am really looking forward to getting Guild of Dungeoneering out there in front of the gamers that have been so supportive over the past year”.

Guild of Dungeoneering is a turn-based dungeon crawler with a twist: instead of controlling the hero you build the dungeon around him. Using cards drawn from your Guild decks, you lay down rooms, monsters, traps and of course loot! Meanwhile your hero is making his own decisions on where to go and what to fight. But will he be strong enough to take on the dungeon’s overlord?

In between dungeon runs you manage your Guild, building new rooms to attract new classes of adventurer and to expand your decks of cards with more powerful items and events.

“From the moment the team at Versus Evil saw Guild of Dungeoneering we knew this is something that we just had to get behind and help publish” said Steve Escalante, General Manager of Versus Evil. “The gameplay itself is such a simple premise on the outside but with solid depth beneath the surface. It also has one of the most important elements needed to make a game successful – fun replayability which has been proven by the daily play sessions the team and I have been having over the holiday break! Guild of Dungeonering is a simply fantastic addition to our already impressive Q1 and Q2 product line up and I am thrilled to be going into the first consumer facing games expo of 2015 with such an impressive number of strong indie development teams”.
