MONOLITH: REQUIEM OF THE ANCIENTS

Steam Next Fest Recap

Following the conclusion of Steam Next Fest, we’re taking a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude. We want you to know how much your participation means to us!

Steam Next Fest was designed with a singular purpose in mind – to offer the gaming community an opportunity to dive headfirst into the exciting world of upcoming indie games!

The enthusiasm and support you’ve shown for Monolith has left us thrilled and deeply appreciative. Whether it was downloading our demo, joining us for livestreams, or generously sharing your thoughts on your socials and our Discord – each action taken has a significant impact on the Monolith team.

“Steam Next Fest was such an exciting moment for us at Versus Evil because, finally, gamers were able to experience what our team has been feeling since we signed this game & see for themselves just how special it is. The team at C2 Game Studio have poured so much love into Monolith: RotA, which is immediately apparent from your first touch of the controls!” – Dave Hulegaard, Senior Brand Manager at Versus Evil.

The highlight of Steam Next Fest, without a doubt, was the chance to finally place our game into your eager hands. That moment was a milestone for us! We genuinely cherish every piece of feedback we received – the praise and the constructive suggestions alike. It’s with your input that we can identify the areas that need fine-tuning and work towards making our game even better.

“We were overwhelmed by the good vibes and general positive and constructive feedback we received, it helped us reinforce our direction and prioritize on some basic pain points some users reported.” – Luis Correa, Game Director C2 Game Studio.

While we are certainly excited about the progress of the game and the warm reception from our community, it’s important to remember that the demo you played is just a glimpse of a game that’s still evolving. It doesn’t represent the final, polished product that we are striving to deliver. Monolith’s demo was designed to give you a glimpse of the game’s direction. There are numerous powers waiting to be unlocked, formidable foes to conquer, and mysteries yet to reveal!

With the invaluable input from our community during Steam Next Fest, we’ve begun to take action. A handful of adjustments and fixes have already found their way into the demo patch, while the rest are set to be implemented into the final game.

Here’s a sneak peek at a few of the concerns we’ve already tackled or are determined to address before Monolith’s release:

Changed auto dash to manual dash with RT (shift on the keyboard)
Added a camera distance slider
Added localization to more languages
Added input remapping
Will improve default mappings for keyboard/mouse
Will add an option to disable camera auto assist
Will add an option to disable controller vibration
Will address issues with default controller settings on Steam
Will tweak mouse sensitivity
Will fix exploits reported
Will improve tutorials to clearly explain all the features

That said, due to popular demand… we’ll be keeping the Monolith demo up on Steam a little bit longer – so dive in again!

Thank you for being a part of our journey and your support for Monolith: Requiem of the Ancients!

We want to hear from you – join the official Monolith: RoTA Discord and leave your feedback on our forums!

Please include any information, screenshots, or videos in your posts – this additional information is invaluable to our dev team and allows them to work on recreating any bugs you may run into at this stage of development!

That’s all for now. Thanks for reading!
