Happy Holidays, gamers! 🎄❄️

This year was filled with many firsts for us at Versus Evil. We created & deployed our very own in-house influencer program (The Heralds), we launched our first ever live service game (First Class Trouble), and we even got to announce our acquisition by tinyBuild!

And as if all that weren’t enough, we also released a slew of awesome new games in 2021: Almighty: Kill Your Gods, The Hand of Merlin, Jumpala, Sockventure, First Class Trouble, Hitchhiker, and UnMetal. Additionally, we had the pleasure to announce that we will be publishing a new social deduction game in 2022 called Eville, which we’re very excited about!

One of our biggest achievements this year was definitely our Herald Program. Launched by our Community team back in May, the Herald Program is something we are so extremely proud of. It is an honor to host a program filled with so many loveable content creators who are passionate about indie games. We saw a huge opportunity to create something really special for these folks and work together to promote our games. The end result is a truly collaborative platform that is perfect for creators of any size!

“It’s been so amazing to have been a part of the VE Herald Programme. I’ve met some wonderful people and had a chance to introduce a game I love to even more people! I have loved the opportunity to help with game testing and providing content that can be used to help advertise games I enjoy!”

– Katatouille, Herald

A key pillar of the Herald program is making sure the creators who are part of it are getting valuable experience, advice/consulting from influencer industry folks, and support for their content & growth.

In 2021, we hosted the first ever “Herald Workshop,” where we had some lovely industry folks present influencer topics to the Heralds, plus a Q&A session. Our panelists did a superb job and we are incredibly thankful for their time & insight.

“Versus Evil’s Herald program is bursting with incredibly talented creators. It was a pleasure to work with them during one of the program’s recent workshops. The eagerness and energy amongst the creators was both refreshing and contagious! Versus Evil is truly doing big things for the creators in the industry. The amount of resources available within their program shows how deep rooted and invested they are in creating opportunities and ensuring their streamers are fully supported while doing what they love! “

– MissHenley, Influencer Industry Leader

Versus Evil grew in even more ways throughout 2021! We added many lovely new industry folks to the team, including Senior Producer – Jericho, Brand Marketing Manager – Jelisa, Creative Director – Phil, Community Specialist – Chris, and of course myself, Community Manager – Sydney.  We are a very tight-knit team and are so excited to welcome all of these new additions to the Versus Evil family!

“Joining Versus Evil was the best part of 2021 for me. I’ve been in the gaming industry for over 13 years, and I haven’t seen a company quite like this. There is a sincere commitment to live up to our namesake – to not be shady, to set our devs up for success as best we can, to engage our community, and to prevent nonessential fads and blind ambition from diluting our focus.”

– Jericho, Sr. Producer

And that’s a wrap on 2021! We hope that we’ve given you some great memories of your own this year. As fun as 2021 was, there’s plenty more to come in 2022, so stay tuned!

Thank you so much to our wonderful community of indie game players, industry staff and content creators. Don’t forget to give some indie games some extra love this season. Stay safe & Happy Holidays from all of us at Versus Evil! ❤️🎁
