Hey folks, VS Dave here!
You already know the Versus Evil name, but who exactly are the people hard at work behind the scenes to bring you the best indie games around? Well, allow us to formally introduce ourselves!
This week, the series continues with Phil, our new Creative Director. Phil is a ridiculously talented artist, and just wait till you see some of the projects he’s been working on (coming soon)! When he says that he’s here to level up our marketing assets, he’s not kidding. He’s also got a great eye for helping elevate other’s designs and ensuring a very high level of quality across our brands.
How long have you been at Versus Evil?
Four months, but I’ve been doing art in the entertainment industry for 25 years. I’ve known Steve Escalante since 1999, and this is the third time I’ve worked with him.
Prior to Versus Evil, I specialized in key art for AAA games and illustrations for toy packaging, and movie posters. I’ve worked on some of the biggest brands in the industry and without knowing it, you have most likely seen my work in stores around the world. I’ve also starred on the cover for a few games and toys.
What do you do here?
Leveling up! I’m here to take our marketing art to the next level. In a nutshell, I’m both overseeing and creating all the marketing art. I work closely with the amazing artists at Red Cerberus, and I also work with our developers to produce the best imagery possible.
What’s your favorite game of all time?
If you could design your perfect game, what would it be like?
A fast paced, casual RTS with addictive gameplay and action.
What do you do for fun outside of work?
I’ve been a DJ since the mid-90s, so that’s always been my fun. I love music and plan on producing again soon. I also play a lot of Command and Conquer Rivals and am part of the highly respected alliance: Team America red team.
Do you have any pets?
Boy, do I…
Where can people find you on social media?
